In a service held on the 28th of October, Bert was laid to rest at Highgate Cemetery, London. He was buried with thumbpicks and a capo in his pocket.
Family and close friends gathered in the east side of Highgate Cemetery for the burial, which took place in emerging sunshine. It was followed by a service at Lauderdale House, on the other side of Waterlow Park.
The public may visit Bert's grave at Highgate Cemetery for a small entry charge (for the upkeep of the cemetery grounds).
These headstones, later created from a single boulder from the Isle of Arran, commemorate Bert and his wife Loren who died shortly after him.
