BBC4 will broadcast highlights from the tribute show last December plus interviews and archive material on 28 March 2014 at 10.00pm.
BBC4 will show The Genius of Bert Jansch: Folk, Blues & Beyond on 28 March 2014 at 10.00pm. The 90 minute programme features interviews and rare archive footage in addition to performances from the unique multi-artist concert at the Royal Festival Hall in London, celebrating Bert's songwriting and musicality.
Ralph McTell, Robert Plant, Donovan, original members of Pentangle (Jacqui McShee, Danny Thompson and Terry Cox), Bernard Butler, Martin Carthy, Martin Simpson, Lisa Knapp and many perform in many unique combinations Bert's songs and songs that inspired him, at the Royal Festival Hall at London's Southbank Centre. Plus there is an extraordinary performance by Neil Young of Jansch's haunting Needle of Death, filmed at Jack White's Nashville studio especially for the occasion.
The broadcast will be followed at 11.30pm by another screening of the Bert's live show filmed by the BBC to celebrate Bert's 60th birthday in 2003 featuring Johnny Marr, Jacqui McShee, Ralph McTell and more. Both will also be available on iPlayer for a week after transmission.
